La Grange Riveraine
Welcome to La Grange Riveraine gites! Relax with the whole family at our peaceful getaway in the countryside of the Correze, with exclusive use of our renovated La Grange lodge and the gorgeous heated seasonal pool - all with direct access to the Dordogne river. Enjoy darts & a full-size snooker table inside, with volleyball, badminton, ping pong, & kid climber on the extensive grounds. Meander through private forest along the riverside, bring a fishing pole, enjoy dinner on the outdoor terrace - perfect for holidays, vacations, and celebrations for large groups!
When booking our gites, you will be the only guests on the property, with exclusive use of the heat pump heated pool (available May 15 through September 30, 10am to 8pm). We can accommodate up to 15 guests total in 13 beds, including children, babies, and day guests. Our property is very popular for gatherings and celebrations for families and friends. Not only does our open plan indoor space allow for enjoying large dinners and entertainment, the outdoor shaded patio is perfect for dining all together in with a peaceful garden setting. Rentals include private use of a large garden area surrounding the patio, with many games and amenities as well as the pool area (open seasonally, 10am to dusk/8pm).
The garden leads down a gradual sloped path to a riverside meadow from which there is direct access to the river for fishing, launching your own canoe, and wild swimming. In summer river levels are low and canoe hire (just up the road) is tremendously popular. The grounds additionally include an acre of natural woodland which is wonderful for experiencing nature and discovering wildlife. If you sit quietly on the riverbank you might see a kingfisher, heron, and possibly even an otter. You could discover an iron ring set in stone to which the rope ferry was anchored in past times.
Newly installed fiber Wifi allows for full connectivity, when you are not busy relaxing in the sun and soaking in all the green! Short drives to Argentat-sur-Dordogne and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, as well as the local Monceaux-sur-Dordogne summer market offer shopping and fun every day.
Chris and Garland live in the farm cottage next door to La Grange with their dog and 3 cats. We will be available to welcome you and otherwise keep out of your way except when you need us. You might see us enjoying our private garden areas, relaxing by the river, or working throughout our 5 acres.
